about

You Them Me Us is ten songs from the late 80s, early 90s, dealing with issues like the threat of extinction of our species by various ego-drenched activities, usually called folly: death - triggered by my Father's death in 1990, a neighbor's murder just outside our home, political hypocrisy as in U.S. blind support of Israel and other repressive regimes,... and a few songs that though containing inserted commentary also celebrate being. The last song is actually two songs I wrote when my daughter was young, just foolin around with words to amuse her and a story about she and her cousins spending time in New Orleans. The album art is an oil painting on masonite titled, "Star Light, Star Bright" from 1989, 17" square.

As with most of these albums I've been using Garage Band to record, in-putting all the instruments and vocals, usually bass, guitar, lead guitar, sometimes some keyboards, sometimes using strings or horn settings. For the first time, with some hesitation, I've started using drum loops. They sound so much better than my rudimentary efforts setting my keyboard on drums and hand-doing'em.
