The proliferation of nuclear power and warheads ought to concern everyone who would be affected by the release of radiation that they all threaten, whether in explosions of war or accidents. That of course would be EVERYONE! The U.S. has over 100, France 60, Japan 60 or so and China intends to build many plants. The U.S., France, Britain, Israel, Russia, Pakistan, India, China and perhaps South Africa, North Korea and others have warheads. The consequences of a nuclear war would probably be fatal for our species and many others… certainly our civilization. The short-term concerns of politicians do not coincide with the threats we face and so, as Einstein has said, we drift toward unparalleled catastrophe.
