about

"to feel and thus to know, that you are; and to abide in that deeply rooted state is enlightenment" Eckhart Tolle

This song tries to lay out Tolle's teachings in a few lines, the main theme being awareness, as what is strived for, stillness, letting the voice in the head become quiet that we might experience essence, our interconnection with ONEness, love being the feeling of this interconnection, love and joy and creativity.

Ego is what Tolle calls the voice in the head and the conceptualization of reality it creates, not for enlightenment but for perpetuation of the ego. Ego is the root cause of the dysfunction dominating civilization and destroying our life system and ego comes out of fear. Fear comes out of the belief that we are separate vulnerable entities and ego is a barrier to the realization that we are ONE.

lyrics

to feel and thus to know that you are that you are
and to abide in that deeply rooted state is enlightenment

to be free to be free of the illusion
that we are separate

to become aware of being
we must reclaim consciousness from the mind

to gain a glimpse of reality
is to create a gap in mindstream
to create a gap in mind chatter

to feel and thus to know that you are that you are
and to abide in that deeply rooted state is enlightenment
