Reading the World Watch books about this time, 1992, which promote themselves as an annual checkup, physical exam for the planet, one can't but get a bit concerned as the political world not only ignores most of this stuff but actively abets it - in service to their corporate clients of course. Ted Turner was influenced by a woman pilot he hired to taxi him back and forth between Atlanta and his SC "plantation" on weekends. She turned him on to the World Watch books and turned his head around about the environment - this according to his autobiography, Call Me Ted.
