Well, it's a little heavy-handed but no more than the rap you get from the full range of theologians, fundamentalists for sure but even the middle class respectable ministers talk a lot of nonsense. Sure on some level it can be seen to be allegorical, myth... but for most folk, near as I can tell, it's closer to fundamentalism. Would that it were harmless but it leaves folks vulnerable to demagoguery, them/us kind of demonization.

I did a 2-part painting of this song, part 1. It has the first part of the verses while part 2. has the last two lines of each verse, seen as refrains or bridges.
