about

A friend gave me a Noam Chomsky book when I commented that I thought the NY Times was a fine newspaper. After that first book I read everything I could find of his, the political stuff, and realized the confusion I often felt was manufactured. The media as indoctrination system became so transparent once Chomsky lifted the veil for me. Little has changed since, it may have gotten worse, even with the "socialist" Obama.

lyrics

Our rhetoric values democracy
then we crush a little country with whom we disagree
we send all kinds of arms we do all kinds of harm
what about our credibility we lie when we needn't
we lie just out of habit

2.
we've got a standard of justice for the wealthy
another standard we hold for the rest
we can tax we can jail we can send you to hell

3.
if you want to run for office you need money
and money always comes tied with strings
have you noticed those same givers
own the TV and newspapers
the media's got no credibility they lie when they needn't
they lie just out of habit

4.
to the victor once went the spoils of class warfare
but what's comin now is comin for all
we can spit we can curse or we can change for the earth
