Visions 03:42
When I have visions I don't make decisions of consequence crossin the street or just jumpin the creek I've no confidence I will stay right where I am and stare there's nothing I value so rare 2. they seem to me random I don't know to control them I say with regret they put me in space on a peak of a place but I always forget I would stay there it's so clear there there in the center of here 3. I prefer playin to bein hay-balin but I've got to eat all my vacation I spend meditatin the light and the heat yoga and music and comic books takin two long tip-toed looks
4.
You came up here I was down without asking on your own there's not any coercion there is only you and I chorus: one long embrace a sip of wine three more words and you'll be mine 2. I remember before now you sang soft your silent song I leaned over to close the space and your eyes said to my face - chorus 3. so together lyin here nothin like it on this sphere though forever we won't know we are lyin here today - chorus
5.
Fold-Out 02:49
Why should I settle for somethin that's not as good I've got fantasies better than this don't misunderstand we can be friends it's like I've got fantasies better than life you might think that I got my other eye on some body more attractive than you we can ski together we can be together ain't that enough ain't that enough? 2. why should I settle for something that's not as good I've got fantasies better and free you could kinda say I've got fictive plays full dress productions especially for me you might think that I got my other eye on some body more attractive than you we can boat in water we can teeter-totter ain't that enough ain't that enough?

Nuclear garbage is proliferatin it's a madness nuclear nightmare is a breath away it's a sadness chorus: there's nothin wrong with huggin (2x) there's nothin wrong with dancin, smilin or lovin 2. these goddamned wars they keep a ragin on people dyin a flag flyin high above a bloody land that ain't freedom -chorus 3. these politicians keep annoying me with their slogans I'd rather play but somebody's goin to have to scold them - chorus 4. I just want to waken feel the light on my face in the mornin reach for my breakfast from the bough hangin by my hand - chorus
7.
In the quiet of Saturday morning, patches of sun shadows of leaves I look over the coastline the land drops behind the sea the seagull soon turns back the porpoise sings beside the bow we sail for Crete I know that pettiness can engulf me in a flash I know about the kindness I know about the trash never better advice was ever better given to we Socrates told us kindly friends don't be dismayed what could be important when you're laid in the grave chorus: the Appalachicola River flows into the gulf the Appalachicola River flows into the sea 2. in the quiet of anyday's minute blackness of smoke brightness of fire I look over the skyline millions dead in that first flash millions more soon follow winter whether march or june lung and air turned ash it's clear that we will perish if we don't come to see one splitting of one atom made war obsolete never better advice was ever better given to we Einstein told us kindly friends we have got to change we are drifting madly toward annihilation - chorus 3. in the quiet of everyday's minutes electron-photon harmony I look over the coastline an envelope of sustenance Mother biosphere the elements of chemistry cosmos mystery the turning of the seasons and the beating of a heart a rich and gentle mantle a deep substantial part never better advice was ever better given to we the momentum of our history is pointing to the dream there is nothing guaranteed we must intervene - chorus

In this room, one man cares In this city, how many there? In this nation, how many feel the pain of nails? (3x) 2. little twigs sprout up out of the dirt great trees push up out of the earth pathetically few limbs end on the hill a painful cross (3x) 3. metal hand-made spear tips on the end of shafts in the hands of soldiers skilled at their craft indifferent standing about the base of a wooden cross (3x) 4. the hill is blackened against an angry sky the man is limply staring from broken eyes the body's covered with hungry flies and the world is saved (3x)
9.
I know better than to try to talk to you when you're feelin that crazy way I know that's a clue to stay back out of reach of that smoke stack and those teeth wait on that boilin kettle wait on dust to settle wait on those blazin eyes wait 'till ember's sleepin 2. I know better than to try to handle you when I see that tail tip standin straight I know what to do to stay out where it's safe keep my mouth out of state keep my feet loose and movin even if I have to lie put my body in a low-risk movie 'till that red volcano dies

A Woman 03:05
I can't tell too many things I've done I can't brag up next to anyone I can't raise an eyebrow in a crowd chorus: I've lived with a woman I've lived with a woman 2. I've seen a lot of time I've seen a bit of wine I've been for years I've been revered - chorus 3. Thought about the prospects for the future think about them most at dinner time think about the day goin by - chorus

about

This batch of ten songs was written between 1978 - 80. They deal with the threat of nuclear war, metaphysics, religion and of course love. Two more "albums" and the love songs will be no more, except in the tongue-in-cheek variety.

released August 2, 2012

I'm playing all the instruments... why not, I wrote all the songs too. A fun project getting my entire output up here on bandcamp. Free listening, pay for download. I'm also using paintings done around the same period for that was my main focus from 1969 - 2006. This 14" square oil painting is titled, "How would the power of free will affect your position?" Something I was thinking about at the time.
